Who is Sweet Nay? SWEET NAY BIO After many years of penning her intimate thoughts in a journal, Renee Caldwell, aka “Sweet Nay”, decided that she wanted to share those thoughts with the world by setting them to music. This marked the birth of Sweet Nay as a professional singer, songwriter, and entertainer who is passionate about sharing her gift and love for music. A native of Shreveport, Sweet Nay has performed in various arenas, some of which include church and community theater productions, casino shows, festivals, and local clubs to name a few. Sweet Nay’s credits include working with Grammy-nominated guitarist, Ron Johnson of La Jazz Records, penning 6 of the 10 tracks on his new artist, Monro Brown’s, project. She had the opportunity to write for Carl Sims of CDS Records to write for his project, “Hell on My Hands”, which has been a successful chart-topper on the blues circuit. Some of Sweet Nay’s performances that are more recent have been with the Shreveport Regional Arts Council’s Christmas in the Sky Jazz in the Park, Dancing for the Cure in which she has emceed as the hilarious self-made character “Lady Pink-A-Dink”, Mardi Gras Dinner and Auction in Malden, Missouri, as well as, many other events.
